Reacting to Chandigarh Tribune's report on a woman who crawled to a polling station for Panchkula MC elections, Prem Garg, Convenor, AAP, said the incident was disturbing. He sought action against officials concerned.
In a press statement, he said all officials present on duty at the polling station in Sector 17, Panchkula, must be taken to task for human rights violations. "It's disgusting and inhuman. How those present there could be so insensitive?" asked Garg. "Instead of being mere onlookers, they could have very easily escorted her respectfully to the polling room. Such things lend a bad image to the nation as they are prominently carried in the international media to defame the electoral system of India. The Election Commission must take note of such lapses," he added. — TNS
