The panchayats of five villages have come out in support of web journalist Rajesh Kundu, who has been booked for “cyber terror”.
The panchayat held at Pabra, the native village of Kundu, has demanded the withdrawal of the criminal case against him and threatened to launch an agitation if the government tried to suppress the voice of the media.
Meanwhile, the police today questioned the cameraman of the journalist.
Earlier, a delegation of journalists from Hisar and other places called on Home Minister Anil Vij in Ambala, who assured them of a fair inquiry into the matter before taking any further step.
Kundu has been booked under Sections 153 A and 153 B of the IPC, and Section 66 F of the IT Act on the basis of his social media post on the farmers’ protest. — TNS
