Ropar, April 19
The local police have booked a municipal councillor for violating home isolation norms meant for Covid-19 patients. The councillor, Inderpal Singh Raju Satyal, allegedly left his home during the election of municipal council’s president on April 15 at 11 am.
Satyal had written to the authorities saying he was suffering from Covid-19 but wanted to cast his vote. He even reached the council office in his car. The director allowed him to cast his vote through video conferencing.
Later, Covid-19 patient tracking officer Monika Yadav lodged a complaint with the police that Inderpal had left his home on April 15 in a car to attend a meeting. Following this, he was booked. — TNS
