Missing scribe’s body found in lake

Bathinda: The body of senior journalist Kanwaljeet Singh Sidhu, Bathinda in-charge of a vernacular daily, was recovered from the NFL lake on Monday. He had gone missing under mysterious circumstances two days ago. SSP Bhupinderjeet Singh Virk said: "A suicide note recovered from the scene cites depression because of a suspended ASI, his wife and children. ASI's wife was involved in a case registered against scribe's brother-in-law." TNS

4 years after crime, gang leader held

Abohar/Sriganganagar: The kingpin of a Punjab-based gang, allegedly involved in snatching gold and cash by trapping devotees outside religious places in Punjab and Rajasthan, was nabbed four years after the incident. The accused has been identified as Bindu of Jagraon. A special investigation team (SIT) was formed to nab Bindu, who is facing eight similar cases in Punjab. OC

Trust gets chairman after four years
