In its second-highest single-day spike, Panchkula on Friday reported 228 new Covid-19 cases, taking the active caseload to 1,196. Two fresh fatalities pushed the toll to 158. While the case tally has now reached 14,520, the cumulative recoveries stand at 13,166. The district had reported its highest single-day surge of 239 cases on Thursday. — TNS
