The police have arrested a proclaimed offender, identified as Shobit Amarjit Singh, a native of Hassanpur village in Samastipur district, Bihar.
According to information, the local police had arrested the accused with 1.1-kg ganja in Kalka on October 13, 2017. A case under Sections 20, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against him at the Kalka police station.
The police said the accused got the bail. However, he failed to appear before the court, following which the Sessions Court declared him a proclaimed offender on August 6, 2019, and a case under Section 174-A of the IPC was registered against him. The accused was today produced in a court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
