Faculty members ask PUTA to clear stand on reforms

Five faculty members of Panjab University have written to the Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) asking it to bring clarity over the protest against the governing reforms.

Dr Priyatosh Sharma and Dr Ashish Kumar from the department of history, Dr Naresh Kumar and Prof Harish from the UIET and Dr Suman Mor from the department of environment studies have asked PUTA to clear its stance on the reforms.

"PUTA has not brought a white paper on the PU governance reforms ndash; whether it wants the senate election without reforms and favours status quo or it favours senate election with reforms in governance," the group asked.

"The PUTA office-bearers should bring out a clear-cut agenda/points which can be deliberated upon in the upcoming Open House," they added. — TNS
