Zirakpur, March 27
Chhatbir Zoo will remain closed for public on Sundays due to surge in the Covid-19 cases in the district. Officials said a large number of visitors come to the zoo daily. The number of people visiting the zoo on Sundays and holidays reaches 2,700.
The decision to close the zoo on Sundays was taken by the Mohali Deputy Commissioner.
M Sudhagar, Field Director, Chhatbir Zoo, said the decision was taken keeping in view the safety of animals and visitors.
