SIT to probe suicide of woman employee

The Jind police will form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of Bhateri Devi, a contractual employee in the Saral office of Uchana subdivision.

The woman, a resident of Khatkar village, allegedly died by suicide and left a five-page note and an audio recording in which she blamed 12 persons, including the Uchana SDM, of harassment and abetment to suicide.

SHO, Uchana police station, Ravinder Kumar said the district police chief would assign theinquiry to the Special Investigation Team after which a formal inquiry would begun.

The accused also include some employees of the SDM office, who allegedly harassed her and issued a driving licence from her user ID in violation of the rules and regulations.
