Several organisations have come in support of farmers' agitation in Mohali. Members of the organisations staged a peaceful protest today.
On the nation-wide call of a one-day dharna in front of deputy commissioners' offices, farmers' organisations in Mohali were joined in by various employees' unions.
The Employees and Pensioners' Coordination Struggle Committee, the PSPCL employees Union, CITU, anganwadi workers, the DC Office Employees Union, the Patwar Union, members of the Bar Council and ex-servicemen joined in the protest, and opposed the three farm laws introduced by the Central Government.
Leaders called upon people to join in the ongoing struggle on Delhi border.
Led by a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Paramjit Kaur Landran, members of the international Puadhi Forum also joined in the protest.
The Peripheral Milkmen Union, Chandigarh, too, took part in the protest. Residents of Mata Gujri Enclave, Swaraj Nagar, staged a protest at Kharar.
Cycle rally
A sports and social welfare society took out a bicycle rally from Sector 65 to the DC office. It passed through Phase 11, Phase 7, Sector 71 and culminated near the DC office. — TNS
