GMADA offers plots in Eco City-2

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is offering 289 residential plots at Eco City-2 in the foothills of Shivaliks at New Chandigarh at the price of Rs25,000 per square yard.

  • Plots being offered are of 200 square yards, 300 square yards, 400 square yards, 450 square yards, 500 square yards, 1,000 square yards and 2,000 square yards size. The scheme is receiving good response as a large number of queries are being received from interested aspirants.

Sharing details of the scheme, a GMADA spokesperson here today said the scheme, which started on December 7, would close on January 14, 2021. The scheme was open to all general category residents of the country (except persons settled abroad) who would attain the age of 18 on the last date of applying for the scheme. He said preference in allotment had been provisioned for senior citizens followed by women applicants. Once the list of these applicants was exhausted, others should be considered for allotment.

The spokesperson said the benefit under various reserve categories and preferential category would be extended to those residents of the state who themselves or their spouse do not possess any plot/house anywhere in the country.

As far as the payment plan was concerned, it has been kept convenient. He said 10 per cent amount of the total price of the plot was to be deposited as earnest money at the time of submission of application and 15 per cent payment was to be made within 30 days of issuance of letter of intent. The remaining 75 per cent amount could be deposited lump sum within 60 days of issuance of letter of intent or in six half-yearly instalments along with 9 per cent interest compounded annually. Allottees making lump sum payment would be given a rebate of 5 per cent on the balance amount.

He said the scheme brochure could be purchased for Rs100 from the single-window service counter, PUDA Bhawan, Sector 62, Mohali, or from branches of various banks (Kotak Mahindra Bank, AXIS Bank, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, State Bank of India, AU Small Finance Bank, Bank of Baroda, Yes Bank and HDFC Bank) associated in the scheme. Applications complete in all respects could be deposited with the banks on or before the last date. Applicants could also apply online by visiting GMADA website gmada.gov.in and could also make payment online in such cases.
