Chandigarh, December 26
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that earlier, the government had planned to build a college for girls within a radius of 20 km. It was reduced to 15 km, but soon, this limit will be further reduced to 10 km so that girl students do not have to travel much to pursue higher education.
Khattar made the announcement while inaugurating the newly constructed academic block at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, through video conferencing here on Saturday. He said that the commencement of this block named after India’s renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan would further enhance academic activities of the university. Khattar said despite being a small state, Haryana has about 50 universities imparting general education as well as technical, sports, medical and ayurvedic universities. — TNS
