Assistive devices distributed among differently abled

Mohali, September 17

A total of 38 beneficiaries of the district were provided 60 assistive equipment worth Rs2.88 lakh during a special camp for assistance to disabled persons (ADIP), organised by District Red Cross Society.

The camp was organised in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) at the District Administrative Complex, Mohali.

Presiding over the camp, Aashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), said, "It is the first of its kind camp in which assistive aids have been provided free of cost to physically challenged people. Aids and appliance distributed include 12 tricycles, six wheel chairs, one cerebal palsey (CP) chair, 10 crutches, two walking sticks, 26 hearing aids with 156 spare batteries, one smart cane and two large elbow crutch."
