Panchkula, July 17
A team of doctors comprising Vivek Gupta, head, interventional neuroradiology, and Anil Dhingra, associate director, neurosurgery, Paras Super Specialty Hospital, Panchkula, performed an advanced neuro-interventional surgery on a brain haemorrhage patient.
A 41-year-old paralysed man was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state from Kurukshetra. Diagnostic tests revealed that a critical artery in the brain had a blister aneurysm that had burst causing bleeding inside the brain. After this advanced surgery, the patient recovered fully. The neuro-interventional surgery is an advanced and relatively new field and there are less than 100 specialists in this field in the country. — TNS
