6 new cases surface in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, July 17

Six new Covid cases were reported from Fatehgarh Sahib today.

An employee at the Deputy Commissioner's Office was among those found infected. Meanwhile, 10 patients were discharged from Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur after recovery.

A health team, led by Civil Surgeon Dr NK Aggarwal, today visited the Hamayunpur area, a micro-containment zone, where five members of a family tested positive to take the samples of the residents, but they refused to give samples.

The Civil Surgeon said that with the help of the police and the civil administration 55 samples were collected. He called upon people to help the government in containing Covid by coming forward to give samples.

He said 379 samples were collected today. He said 13,883 samples were collected till today, of which 13,010 tested negative and 192 positive. Now, there are 51 active cases in the district.

He urged the people to strictly follow the guidelines of the Health Department to defeat the virus.
