Book by teenager with Nawanshahr roots out

New Delhi, November 27

Aashna Lidder, a teenaged daughter of a Brigadier, has come out with a book of poems titled "In search of a title, musings of a teenager". The 184-page book touches various aspects of life: growing up, seeing new things, including Army's various operations, and their impact on life.

The book was released by former Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi at a function here. Madhulika Rawat, president, Defence Wives Welfare Association; Sonia Singh, editorial director, NDTV; and Amaan Ali and Ayaan Ali Bangash, music maestros, attended the event.

Aashna, a student of Loreto Convent, Delhi Cantt, has her roots in Punjab. Her paternal family is from Nawanshahr, while her maternal grandparents live in Chandigarh.

The back cover of the book says, "The author seems serious, childish, aspirational, judgmental, motivational, emotional and focused all rolled into the single person — exactly how each of us are." — TNS
