The English Literary Club of GGD SD College, Sector 32, concluded its 2nd five-day international lecture series, "Unravelling the Bard: Through Global Perspectives - Part 2".
The lecture series saw participation by professors and scholars of English literature from around the world namely Dr Ronan Paterson (Teesside University, England), Dr Carla Della Gatta (Florida State University), Dr Anthony Guy Patricia (Concord University in Athens, US), Dr Kimberly Anne Coles (University of Maryland, US) and Dr Thea Buckley (Queen's University, Ireland).
The speakers gave scholarly lectures encompassing various themes related to studies in Shakespeare such as "Shakespeare on World Screens", "Ethnicising Shakespearean Tragedies on Film", "Queer Problematics in Shakesparean plays", "Racial Genealogies and Women" in his plays and others. Earlier, a distinguished lecture on "The life of a Protozoal Invader: What we learn from its successes and failures" was jointly organised by the Indian Science Congress Association (Chandigarh Chapter), Indian National Science Academy (Chandigarh Chapter), Chandigarh Forum for Science and Technology Communication (CFSTC) and the college society,
