The Panjab University (PU) authorities today allowed the opening of AC Joshi Library for students.
A circular issued by the Dean Students Welfare reads: "Taking into account the worsening Covid-19 scenario in the tricity and the demand of students to make reading halls in AC Joshi Library available for them and researchers, the reading hall shall remain open subject to strict compliance with Covid-19 SOPs."
The timings for outer reading hall will be from 9 am to 12 midnight. From Monday onwards, reading halls on the first and third floors will remain open between 9 am and 8 pm.
The authorities had decided to shut libraries, including AC Joshi Library, on the campus till March 31, which led to protest by student political parties.
