One booked for house trespass, theft in Panchkula

The Panchkula police have booked an unidentified person for lurking, house trespassing at night, breaking-in and theft at a house in Sector 15 here.

The incident took place on Thursday night when family members were not at home. Complainant Dr Pankaj Garg told the police that when they were away, a youth scaled the boundary wall and barged into their house around 9:30 pm.

"He took away Rs50,000 and all sanitary fittings. As per the footage of a CCTV camera installed in the house, the suspect can be seen bringing out the stolen items in a bag from the house, breaking open the lock to our cycle and fleeing the spot."

A case has been registered under Sections 380 (theft) and 457 (house trespass at night and lurking) of the IPC at the Sector 14 police station.
