Gunny bag shortage in mandis

In the era of computerisation, the government should be well aware of the facts in advance how much "bardana" (gunny bags)is needed in each mandi, looking into the average number of bags procured in the past 10 years. They have a full year to plan in advance. But every year, in each grain market, the commission agents face a shortage of gunny bags, which is never supplied on time. The government is supposed to supply gunny bags in each mandi. But, in reality, the commission agents run after officials concerned and transport the bales from godowns, at their own cost. — Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Surge in criminal activities in tricity disturbing

It disturbed me when I came to know of the increasing crime incidents in the Tricity, which is quite alarming. Anti-social elements have been active. Many snatching incidents have been reported daily despite the pandemic. In a recent incident, a motorcycle-borne miscreant snatched a gold chain from a 57-year-old woman in Sector 23. The administrations must take note of it and act at once. — Vidya Sagar Garg, Panchkula

Rusted Signboard in Ambala park

The HSVP signboard bears warning that playing cricket, hockey, football etc. and taking pets for a stroll is prohibited. For any infringement, a fine has also been proposed. This sighboard is rusted and many wordings are not readable. People violate norms in this park by playing cricket regularly and harass people living closeby and damage panes of windows and vehicles. On many occasions it has turned into a verbal spat. The matter has been brought to the notice of the administration, but all in vain. We hope the administration will look into the issue seriously. — Gian P Kansal, Ambala city
