4 drunken youths held for violating night curfew

Panchkula, April 17

The local police have arrested a group of friends for creating nuisance in public during night curfew in a drunken state on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The suspects were identified as Rakesh, Ankush, Rajan and Suraj.

According to the police, Head Constable Kunwar Pal Singh, who was on patrolling duty, spotted two motorcycles parked near the Surajpur flyover around 1:30 am. Four youths, in close proximity, were hurling abuses at each other and creating a nuisance. The police official, with the assistance of his colleagues, nabbed the youths. They were found to be in intoxicated. The suspects were booked under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act. — TNS
