No end to stray animal menace

THE increasing population of stray animals poses a risk to the lives of residents. Stray cattle fights have become a common scene in Kaithal city. In a latest incident of bull fight, the animals entered the house of Kaithal DIPRO Krishan Kumar in the Dogran Gate area on Wednesday evening and damaged household articles, while the officer and his family members had a miraculous escape. Only a few days back, in a similar incident, his car was damaged by stray animals. Shockingly, due to bull fights, many lives had been lost during the past years and scores of people suffered serious injuries in various localities but the local administration and civic body officials have failed to take steps to provide relief to the harassed residents despite repeated requests. The authorities concerned must take serious note of the problem and get the needful done. Shakti Singh, KARNAL

Need to follow Covid norms strictly

THE number of Covid infections is increasing at an alarming rate in the state but the people are hardly bothered to adopt any safety measures such as wearing a mask and practising social-distancing. In Narwana, huge processions be it social or religious, are carried out in the city almost every day, in which hundreds of women and children take part. On Wednesday, hundreds of bank employees observed a strike and took out a procession in an already crowded market place. People need to understand the gravity of the situation, act responsibly and follow the government-issued preventive measures. The police too should act strictly against the violators. Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
