HCS officer’s house in Panchkula burgled

Panchkula, March 30

Valuables worth lakhs of rupees were reportedly stolen from the Sector 21 house of the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation (HAIC) Managing Director Rohit Yadav.

The incident came to light this evening when Rohit Yadav along with his driver returned home after Holi celebrations in Gurugram. They found the lock on the main door broken and immediately informed the police.

Rohit Yadav, an HCS officer, is the son-in-law of former minister Capt Ajay Yadav.

At the time of filing this report, the police were investigating the matter. The dog squad was also pressed into service and police claimed that they would solve the case and nab the accused.

The police said Rohit Yadav along with his family had gone to Gurugram on Friday and after celebrating Holi returned to his house at 7 pm today.

The lock on the main door was found broken. The thieves had also broken the doors of almost all the almirahs in the house, the police said. Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Capt Ajay Yadav claimed that the thieves had decamped with diamond jewellery, including a solitaire, and several costly watches from the house.

He said the house was owned by his wife and they had been living here since 2002. Captain Yadav said after they shifted to Gurugram his son-in-law was staying at the house, which was refurbished recently. — TNS
