Congress state in-charge Vivek Bansal today condemned the income tax searches on Samalkha MLA Dharam Singh Chokker's properties. He alleged that the searches were conducted due to the vengeance of the government.
At a press conference in Chandigarh, Bansal equated today's searches with those on the premises of film producer Anurag Kashyap and actor Tapsee Pannu.
"If any opposition leader raises his voice against the government, he is mentally harassed by investigating agencies," he said.
Asked about Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda's presence at a "G-23 leaders" event in Jammu, Bansal said, "Why are you singling out Hooda? It used to be G-23, but now it is not even G-5 or G-6. The Jammu meeting was blown out of proportion".
