Hisar, March 9
Farmers visited the offices and residences of BJP and JJP legislators in Jind, Hisar, Bhiwani and Fatehabad districts in an attempt to drum up support for the no-confidence motion against the state government, the discussion on which will be held in the Assembly tomorrow.
In Uchana, they submitted a memorandum to the guard deployed at the office of Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala while, in Jind, a group of farmers pasted the memorandum outside the residence of BJP MLA Krishan Middha.
They claimed the days of the Manohar Lal Khattar government were numbered.
In Sirsa, farmers protested and raised slogans against Independent legislator Gopal Kanda, as he failed to turn up to receive the memorandum. They refused to hand over the memorandum to his staff.
The protesters said they had already asked Power Minister Ranjit Chautala, who is an Independent MLA from Rania, to withdraw support from the government or else face political boycott. — TNS
