Karnal: The English department, KVA DAV College for Women, Karnal, organised an online extension lecture. Dr Neena Arora, an erudite scholar and former professor, Dyal Singh College, Karnal, shared her expertise on Virginia Woolf's renowned treatise 'A Room of One's Own'. She discussed the intricacies of the polemic text. Defining feminism, Dr Neena Arora said it was a campaign to lift women from the margin and make them part of the mainstream. After the lecture, the participants interacted with her and varied aspects of feminism were discussed in detail. Principal Sujata Gupta, HoD Sunit Bhandari, the department faculty and more than 80 students from MA English and BA course attended the event.
PhD interview at MDU from Jan 6
Rohtak: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) will hold interview for the PhD programme for 2020-2021 from January 6 to 8. MDU, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof AK Rajan said the interview would be held in the department concerned from 10 am. The schedule is available on the MDU website.
Foundation day celebrated
Yamunanagar: The three-day foundation day celebrations at Guru Nanak Khalsa College concluded here recently. Bhai Manmohan Singh and Bhai Gurcharan Singh recited shabads. General secretary of the managing committee Balwant Singh Banga extended greetings to the college staff on the foundation day, Guru Nanak Jayanti and New Year. Principal Harinder Singh Kang said under the guidance of Bhupinder Singh Jauhar and president of the management committee Randeep Singh Jauhar, several works had been undertaken for the development of Guru Nanak Khalsa educational institutions. Dr Narinder Singh Virk, former deputy chairman of the Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, was also present.
