Chandigarh: A 23-year-old cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run on the road separating Sector 33 and 34. According to the police, the complainant, Vibash of Burail, reported that he and his friend Naresh were returning to their room on their bicycles when an unknown vehicle hit Naresh's bicycle and sped away on December 30. Naresh was taken to the GMCH, Sector 32, where he later succumbed to his injuries. TNS
Club owners booked
Chandigarh: The UT police have booked two club owners for serving hookah to customers. Cases were registered against Romi Chauhan, owner of EskoBar in Sector 9, and Kapil Katariya, owner of Chasers in Sector 9, on a complaint of Manish Goyal, Inspector, Excise and Taxation Department. Excise officials had found hookah being served to customers on the intervening night of December 25 and 26. The club owners were booked under Section 188 of the IPC at the Sector 3 police station. Theft at house in Sector 32
Chandigarh: A theft was reported from a house in Sector 32. The complainant, Lokesh, a data entry operator at the AG Office, Haryana, stated that he had gone to Sonepat on December 23. He returned on December 31, he found the lock of the main door broken and the house ransacked. He stated that Rs50,000 was stolen from his house. A case was registered at the Sector 34 police station and an investigation has been initiated into it. TNS
