Chandigarh: Dr Kashmir Singh, Associate Professor, Biotechnology Department, Panjab University, has been granted a project on genome editing of potato by the ICAR-NASF, New Delhi. The total cost of the project is 1.65 crore and it will run in collaboration with the CPRI, Shimla, and the IISER, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr Kashmir Singh's work will ensure low heterozygosity in potato seeds and will help farmers to grow true hybrid crop. TNS
