The district witnessed two Covid fatalities during the past 24 hours, taking the toll to 142, while 13 fresh cases were reported today, taking the count to 9,919.
The Civil Surgeon, Dr Jasjit Kaur, said two persons succumbed to the virus in the district. These were a 73-year-old man, a resident of Sector 9 who had comorbidities, and a 34-year-old woman, a resident of Sector 15. Among the fresh cases, one each was reported from Barwala, Sector 10, 11, 20 and 26, three from Raipur Rani and five from Sector 15.
The district has so far seen 9,919 positive cases of which 9,568 patients have been cured. There are now 209 active cases.
