Dr Parminder Singh Ahluwalia (58), Director (Sports), Panjab University, died due to a cardiac arrest today.
He was reportedly recovering from Covid-19. Ahluwalia was appointed as an assistant professor at Arya College in Ludhiana in 1991. Besides completing degree courses from the NIS, Patiala, and writing journals, he was attached as the head of the National College of Physical Education, Chupki, Patiala, for three years.
He took the charge of the Director (Sports) in March 2015. Under his supervision, the PU won the prestigious Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy consecutively for two years. Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, PU, offered condolences to the family. The PU also won the recent first-ever Khleo India University Games. — TNS
