After several weeks, the number of active Covid-19 cases in Punjab has come down to less than 10,000.

Last month, the average number of active cases on any given day was about 20,000. The graph started witnessing a decline in the beginning of October with a dip in the number of fresh cases and a higher recovery rate. In the first 10 days of October, the average number of active cases stood at 12,000.
This number declined to 9,752 on Saturday.
The positivity rate too fell drastically (to 4 per cent) in the first week of October with a further decline in the past three days.
Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said: "With norms for home isolation made simpler, people are now coming forward to get themselves tested. The number of patients undergoing treatment in hospitals has come down considerably." — TNS
