Patiala, October 12
For the first time in about 100 days, Patiala district on Monday, reported just 14 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the district count to 12,192.
Of the 14 new cases, seven were reported from Patiala, four from Bhadson, two Nabha, and one from Rajpura. However, the Health department warned residents of the second wave of Covid-19. Patiala Civil Surgeon Harish Malhotra said people should not play down the threat of the pandemic. He said health experts had already warned of the second peak if people didn't follow the Covid guidelines.
"People are thinking that cases have now declined, therefore, the spread is over. However, this approach of negligence can prove fatal. People should stick to Covid-19 guidelines if they want to save themselves," said Dr Harish.
Meanwhile, the district reported two deaths taking the toll to 357. Health officials informed that a 65-year-old resident of Rajpura and 76-year-old resident of Patiala died during the treatment at Government Rajindra Hospital. The health Department said that both the patients had co-morbidities.
