The Punjab Government today rolled back its decision to hike user charges in government hospitals.
The Punjab Health Systems Corporation said, "The revision in user charges made on August 28 has been withdrawn due to Covid-19."
The ambulance charges were hiked from Rs 5/km to Rs 15/km and those for admission and OPD registration were doubled.
The Tribune had highlighted the issue, focussing on the plight of poor patients. —TNS
