The UT Powermen Union has sought support from the Chandigarh Residents Associations' Welfare Federation (CRAWFED) in its fight against the privatisation of the UT Electricity Department.
Union president Dhyan Singh and general secretary Gopal Dutt met Hitesh Puri, chairman, and Rajat Malhotra, general secretary, CRAWFED. They handed over a memorandum to them regarding their request to withdraw the proposal of privatisation of the Electricity Department.
After hearing their demand, Hitesh Puri assured the delegation members that he and his team would discuss the matter at length with various resident welfare
associations and also take up the issue with the local as well as the Central leadership.
