Prime Minister Modi continues video conferencing with Chief Ministers, Home Minister Amit Shah is addressing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get out of the lockout in the country in the rising cases of corona virus

  • Home Minister Amit Shah is holding discussions with the Chief Ministers. They are listening to the Chief Ministers one by one, suggestions are being sought from them.
  • Many issues are likely to be discussed during PM Modi's talks with the Chief Ministers through video conferencing. PM Modi was accompanied by Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan and concerned officials in the meeting.
  • According to sources, Mamata Banerjee has opposed the resumption of train services. Mamata has objected to running special trains. The issue may come up during talks with Prime Minister Modi.
  • According to sources, PM Modi will initially hold talks with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mamata Banerjee, the then Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and CM of West Bengal, will speak. It will be followed by CM Palanisamy of Tamil Nadu, Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh and Vijay Rupani of Gujarat.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said the video conferencing would begin at 3 pm on Monday. According to official sources, the meeting will also discuss efforts to boost economic activity and convert the "red zone" into an "orange" or "green" zone, along with other Corona cases. It may be recalled that earlier when the Prime Minister met the Chief Ministers on April 27, there were only more than 28,000 cases of corona in the country. But now the figure has crossed 67,000.


Sources said that with the completion of the third phase of the lockout on May 17, the government is planning to give more leeway. The meeting of the Chief Ministers of all the states with the Prime Minister could prepare a blueprint. All the Chief Ministers have been asked to have their say in the meeting. Expectations from the meeting have risen further since the announcement of the launch of passenger trains on select routes from Tuesday. Now there are plans to fly a limited number of planes. The meeting will be attended by the Prime Minister along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and others.
