Excise duty was increased last week

The Center had last week hiked petrol and excise duty by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 13 per liter. However, the hike in excise duty will not have a direct impact on retail sales of petrol and diesel. This fee rate change will take effect on May 6, 2020.

Increased VAT on petrol and diesel in Rajasthan

Due to the corona epidemic, last week the Rajasthan government has increased the value added tax i.e. VAT on petrol and diesel. This time there has been an increase of two per cent on petrol and one per cent on diesel. By mixing it during the Corona transition, the government has increased VAT on petrol by 8 per cent and on diesel by 6 per cent.

Petroleum and diesel costs are as of now inspected by oil promoting organizations -, for example, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum - every day, and any progressions are actualized at the fuel stations with impact from 6 am.
