New Delhi: E-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart today started delivering non-essential items to the country's green and orange zones. Since then, people have started shopping faster. With the advent of online shopping, people have come to feel the need for much-needed essentials. Amazon and Flipkart are going to start delivering garments, smartphones, mobile accessories and other non-essential items from today. This will turn the wheel of business of hundreds of small businesses around again after about 40 days.
These things are happening in the highest order
According to eCommerce companies, in the Summer Apparel category, consumers are searching and ordering T-shirts, bermudas, skirts and undergarments the most. Among personal grooming products, items such as mosquito repellent rackets, mosquito nets, LED bulbs, pressure cookers, water bottles, bedsheets and towels are the most sought after items. There is also a huge demand for things like mobile phone chargers, earphones, data cables.
According to a spokesperson for e-commerce company Snapdeal, most of the people who do business on their platform deliver in small towns. Small traders said that even when shops were open in the green zone, people would prefer to shop online instead of going to the shops. This is because it is easier to follow social distance through e-commerce.
