135 new cases in Punjab, two more deaths, including 122 pilgrims, total number 1627

JNN, Jalandhar: The death toll in Punjab has risen to 27 with the death of two more people due to corona on Wednesday. 

A 29-year-old youth from Qazi Mohalla of Jalandhar died in PGI Chandigarh while a 45-year-old man from Aman Nagar in Patiala died. There were 135 new positive cases on Wednesday. Of these, 122 are devotees. The highest number of 57 cases was reported in Tarn Taran. Besides, 40 cases were reported in Amritsar, 17 in Moga, six in Patiala, four in Gurdaspur and three in Ferozepur. One each was found infected in Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Barnala. In Bathinda, three cases were found positive. The total number of infected people in Punjab has now reached 1627. Of these, 1076 are pilgrims returning from Hazur Sahib. In Punjab, 1250 cases have been received in a week.

In Chandigarh, 9 cases, 124 counted

Nine new cases came to light in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Of these, eight were found positive in Bapudham Colony and one in Sector 56. The total number of infected people in the city has risen to 124.
