People in Iran have been drinking 'alcohol' for months as a cure for corona, causing more than 700 deaths
Tehran, ANI: The corona virus is wreaking havoc around the world. So far no cure has been found for the corona virus but in the meantime more than 700 people have died in Iran due to the superstitious beliefs of the corona virus. There was a belief that alcohol could help in the effective treatment of corona, a dangerous and rapidly spreading infection.
The National Coroner's Authority said Al Jazeera reported that 728 people had died from alcohol poisoning between February 20 and April 7. Last year, there were only 66 deaths due to alcohol poisoning. According to an official report released in April last year, there has been a 10-fold increase in the number of deaths due to alcohol poisoning in Iran, which is considered the epicenter of the epidemic in the Middle East.
A spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Kinyous Jahanpur, said 5,011 people had consumed methanol. He also said that 90 people lost their eyesight due to this or their eyes were damaged due to alcohol poisoning.
